Course Description

The clay feels so good in our hands! This course will develop your skills and methods of treating clay, learning to model shapes and
proportions. You will start off with copying plaster forms (such as ornaments and masks) and then continue with your own sculpture
composition. Then apply the texture techniques that suits: modern, classic, and stylizing. You will also be learning how to cast your
sculpture in plaster and wax forms and then having the possibility of reproducing your sculpture in other materials such as wood or stone.
So get your hands dirty and bring home some beautiful objects!

Please Note: Students will need to supply their own tools and materials for these courses. A list will be given upon registration along
with a recommended list of places in Luxembourg where to purchase everything. Approx. material costs for each course 50-100 euro.

A minimum of 4 people is required for this class to take place


Irina Bula is Latvian and has been living in Luxembourg for 15 years. She graduated from the Latvian Academy of Art in Riga, where she studied painting, drawing, bronze techniques, woodcarving, copper-base reliefs and ceramics.
She then worked for an American art firm in Latvia which had the Vatican, White House and Museums amongst their clients.
